Find The Right Assisted Living
or Nursing Home In the Baltimore MD area
Hi, my name is Sheila Baldeo, and I am Carol’s Senior Living Advisor in the Baltimore, MD area. I received my Bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina-Columbia. For more than 16 years, I have worked in the Human Services field as an advocate for the disabled and elderly population. I take pride in the personal interactions I share with my clients, and each encounter with them is a chance for us to write a new beginning or a perfect ending together.
As a native South Carolinian, I grew up learning that showing respect for your elders and sweet tea will take you a long way in life. My grandmother, pictured below with my sister, passed away at a wise age of 99. My grandparent’s taught me the — basic rules and values that I taught my own children. A visit to their house after Sunday service was a staple in my life. Before leaving, my grandmother would take us on a tour of her beautiful flower garden, and we could see firsthand the nurturing she poured her green thumb into each plant, some without any roots for support. That was her kind of love. My southern upbringing taught me that family is a very important. As my grandmother aged and her health declined, learned to treasure the simple things as the family took turns taking care of her. The main discussion my family and I had was how to keep my grandmother close to her home and her family, the things she knew and loved best.
Joining Ask-Carol and helping the elderly keeps me in a position to continue to do what I enjoy most. Placing a loved one in an assisted living home/facility is never an easy decision, but I am here to provide support during the process of identifying resources that will help with:
- Guide you through an often complex process.
- Ask questions you might overlook.
- Find financing options for your budget.
- Suggest the communities best for your parent
- Offer personal support during a difficult time.
